The Alexander McQueen Spring Summer 2011 runway shoes were avant-garde works of art. Python lace-up booties, metal toe caps, studs, buckles & Monarch butterflies with intricate metal sculpted heels were just elements of this masterpiece show. Sarah Burton worked alongside McQueen for 15 years and proves that she has the skill & vision to do what it takes to survive and carry on the McQueen legacy. Bravo. xo

The Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2011 Collection was a beautiful display of color, the boldest & most vibrant use of every color of the rainbow; Asian inspired frocks with touches of lace, fringe and strategically placed animal prints & floor length draped dresses. My most favourite thing was the oversized red pants. I’ve always wanted a reason to wear red pants and now I’m hoping I won’t need one. If the runways are any indication of what our future holds, Spring & Summer 2011 is going to be fun. I’m inspired to fill my closet with every color of the rainbow this Spring and am looking forward to a very bright future. xo

The Chanel Spring / Summer 2011 Show was one the most anticipated show of all shows (for me at least) and what a majestic show it was, held inside the Grand Palais in Paris, which was exactly that…grand. The show lasted 18 mins long with an orchestra of 80 musicians and over 80 models including a few very sexy men and child. I have a slight obsession with Chanel, especially Chanel handbags & accessories so I was most excited to scope out some Spring arm candy. Karl Lagerfeld is a true genius and Chanel is Chanel. Timeless luxury.

The Spring / Summer 2011 Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) Collection was a collection of luxurious textures and some of the most intriguing shapes & silhouettes. The first look was a white trench coat, continuing on to long ruffled dresses, cutouts, fur crop jackets, sheer blouses, skinny belts, dresses with an asymmetrical side pocket & super high slits, silky pants and my favourite…jumpsuits; the most gorgeous jumpsuits.
The shoes were interesting to say the least. The sky high platform python wedges were definitely a shoe I would welcome in my closet but the spear shaped heeled wedges that extended way past the heel was almost weapon like, an unexpected twist on a shoe. Nevertheless, Stefano Pilati creates a most inspiring collection.

The John Galliano Spring Summer 2011 Collection was theatrical & grand, but it was the runway shoes that won my heart amongst the folds of leather, organza, lace, beading & embroidery. I will surely be on the hunt for these platform peep toes come Spring 2011 but the only question will be…which colour?
