It was my dear friend @WinnysWorld‘s birthday on Friday, so we gathered a bunch of close friends and celebrated at One Restauarant in Yorkville. We were suppose to go out after dinner, but we were having too much fun to leave and ended up shutting down the restaurant instead.

We somehow managed to match which was totally unplanned, wearing shades of pale pink, nude & metallic.

On Friday night, we celebrated our dear friend Uche’s birthday and what a celebration it was. The fabulous soiree took place inside One Restaurant, connected to the Hazleton Hotel, quickly becoming known as one of Tdot’s hot spots. Attendees included some of the city’s finest, about 40 of my favorite boys and girls…Azuka, Oliver (Ransom), Shannae (What Women Want), Nebby (The Segment), Winny, Rachel, Coco & Lowe, Brazen Hussy, T-Rexx (Shuffle, Remix), Wayne Warner, Mike, Venus (Flow93.5), Sharob, and our boy Drake even made it, having just a day off from the I Am Music Tour. Our crew took up 2 huge tables in the amazing special events room inside One Restaurant…we ate fantastic food, we laughed, we sipped on champagne, and we had a toast to a wonderful friend Uche and then after dinner, we all rolled over to Libra Lounge for the launch of our girls’ Sharob & Nekita’s new Production Company, King & Knight, and consumed massive amounts of champagne, yummy cupcakes and strawberries. Thanks Uche for being born…we love you! xo

I had a friend in town from Boston over the weekend that I had to entertain (as usual), who doesn’t like clubs and doesn’t like to party…who wanted a great dinner, a bottle of wine, a low key spot and good company (that part was easy, I called my bff Karen to join us. wink wink). Considering it was a weekend, I decided on ONE RESTAURANT in HAZLETON HOTEL in Yorkville, which I knew would have a little bit of a scene without being crowded or loud, at least not while I was eating. The first time I went to ONE was just after it opened in time for the Toronto Film Festival in Sept 2007, with my dear friends Azuka, Lowe & Winny and have been a fan ever since. It’s apparently been quite a hit amongst celebs and A-listers. To be honest, I’ve been way too involved in my food to ever notice. I enjoy the vibe and the overall dining experience and the valet parking is a much need bonus in the middle of the winter burrr.  My taste buds give ONE a rating of 8 out of 10. Your wallet might beg to differ. lol

Menu: European…Italian, French.

What we ordered and would recommend: Lobster Spoons, Arugula Salad (one of the best), Lobster Mac & Cheese, Alaskan Black Cod, The Carrots, and the Peanut Butter Creme Brule (I loveeeeee everything Peanut Butter)

I wasn’t impressed with the Oyster dish, but the impeccable service made up for it. Personally, I prefer the food at Mark McEwan‘s other 2 restaurants Bymark and North 44.
