I was in NYC again this week to catch a few NY Fashion Week shows before I fly out to Vegas to cover the Project Show. I’ve stayed at a ton of different hotels in NYC, and have always found the rooms too small, especially for the way I like to pack. This time around, I decided to book a King 1 Bedroom Suite at the Dream Hotel NYC. It was not only spacious, it was modern, clean and was equipped with 2 of everything including 2 full bathrooms! The service was superb, the food was exceptional and the bed!!! OMG! The bed. I am still dreaming about the bed at Dream Hotel! The beds were beyond comfortable with the softest sheets, which meant I was able to get a few very well rested nights sleeps. I will definitely be back to the Dream Hotel on my next NYC stay. What was suppose to be a 3 day trip to NYC ended up being an extended 8 day trip. I flew in for the Project NYC and ended up skipping my flight home and stayed a few extra days. Project NYC is a small but very stylishly created trade show which features directional brands and some of the most influential retailers in the marketplace, combined with an interactive group of artists creating product on the show floor from their perspective brands. I got a chance to kick it with some of my favourite fashionable boys, including the homie Marcus Troy who did an excellent job of curating the Blogger Project, which is a hand-picked group of some of the most influential bloggers in the contemporary market. His troops were fully equipped and from what I could see, working hard to bring you the latest Project news, live from the venue.

I’ve been in NY so much lately that I’m finally getting a chance to try out all the fantastic dining. I satisfied my craving for good grits at Kitchenette, had a delicious dinner at the Soho House and Catch NY, which was shoulder to shoulder packed with NYC scene-sters. I shopped the usual Bergdorf, Barney’s and even caught a massive Helmut Lang Sale in Soho. I’ll be back in NY next week for Fashion Week. Stay tuned. I might as well live in NY. Hmmmm…xo

I’ve always been a fan of the Celine Luggage Tote but was never so inclined to buy one until a recent visit to Barney’s in NYC. I stopped dead in my tracks when I first laid eyes on this stunning bag. The sales associate advised me that the bag had only been sitting on the shelf for 30 minutes before low and behold, I walked through those doors. Whether or not that was true, I couldn’t stand the thought of the sleepless nights I would have without this beautiful new found Celine Leopard Luggage Tote. I proceeded to dish out the $3500 so we could be together forever, then took a couple memorable photos from my hotel room in NYC. You’ll probably be seeing a lot of this bag around here. xoxo

I flew in on a red-eye from Las Vegas to NYC, straight to a really long day of meetings. The next morning, I was itching for some uptown shopping, paid a visit to Hermes, YSL, then Bergdorf Goodman, my favourite one-stop department store for luxury shopping. I headed directly to the shoe section to stock up on fall shoes. It’s like a candy store for shoes filled with tons of limited edition runway shoes and classics alike. I debuted my Orange Hermes Birkin 35 for the occasion and fit right in with all the other Birkin wearing ladies that frequent Bergdorf’s.

I couldn’t resist taking a final trip uptown to check out Barney’s and all the stores I missed the first and second day in New York. Then we spent the rest of the day & evening in Soho. Sadly, I lost one of my camera SD cards consisting of a ton of amazing photos from our crazy nights in NYC! Oh well, next time. There will surely be many more next times in NYC.

I took JayStrut to one of my favorite little restaurants, Cafe Habana in Soho for some yummy corn on the cob, plantain, chicken, rice & beans. We got caught in the middle of a crazy tornado and it felt like the world was blowing up. It was actually kind of scary but the food was superb and I love NY.

I absolutely adored every single look from the J.Mendel S/S 2011 Collection shown on Sept 16 at MB Fashion Week in NYC. I would literally wear every single dress from this collection. I especially love the asymmetrical lines, the cutouts, the draping of the fabrics, the steel pale blue mixed with blush & nude and the mix of fur with the sheer. Simply a dreamy collection.

I’m a little obsessed with nude & black lately, so it’s no surprise these were my most favorite picks from the Herve Leger S/S 2011 on September 14 at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in NYC. Herve Leger is famous for their trademark bandage dresses, a dress that every woman needs in her wardrobe at some point. The body sculpting luxury fabric, knit & leather dresses have a magical way of sucking everything in and making every woman feel curvy & sexy.

The Jenny Packham S/S 2011 Collection shown during MB Fashion Week in NYC proved to be a spectacular presentation of intricate sequin and beading, straight out of a romance novel. The one piece jumpsuits were my favorite and were just so amazingly beautiful.
