Besides my ever so entertaining Ciroc The New Year Evening at Diddy’s Mansion, Miami was a week of non-stop action. I spent most of my time catching up with my dear friend Ania. As usual, we shopped a lot. We spent a full day at Bal Harbour Shops, stocked up on Spring shoes and bought matching Twillys for our Birkins. We even got a chance to check out Lebron‘s new retail store Unknwn Miami at Aventura Mall and if there’s one thing besides shopping that I love about Miami, it’s the amazing food options. There aren’t enough days in the week to eat everywhere I wanted to eat, but we managed to squeeze in many delicious meals in my short week stay. We had brunch and dinner at Cecconi’s inside The Soho House, lunch at Makato, celebrated a special birthday at Nobu, pasta at Osterio del Teatro and chop-chop from Chicken Kitchen.

We caught a couple Miami Heat games and scored floor seats. The nightlife was extra crazy this time around. We made our rounds; caught Deadmaus at Fountaine Bleu, Dirty South at Mansion, Neyo at Mokai Lounge, Too Short at Cameo and had an extraordinary night with Rihanna, Weezy & DMX at Liv on Sunday. I’m still asking myself why I left sunny Miami to return home to Toronto. One things for sure, I’ll be back in Miami very soon. xo

Last night was nothing short of spectacular on so many levels. The much anticipated Lil Wayne concert took place  (Thursday, Jan 15, 2009) at the ACC in Toronto. The concert was so dope, the energy was off the charts, the crowd was hype; Weezy was charming and witty and his tatted up body was looking sexier than ever, to say the least…

There were firebursts, explosions, a five-piece band, a female cellist-bass player, a stripper pole (courtesy of Flirty Girl Fitness),  and just short of 15,000 screaming fans chanting “Weezy!!!”.

There were performances by Keyshia Cole, Keri Hilson,  T-Pain,  and artists from the Young Money crew including 16-yr old Lil Twist (too cute with his mohawk), Niki Minaj, and Mack Maine, all doing they’re thing.

But the highlight of the night for me was most definitely when Weezy was joined on stage by Toronto’s very own Aubrey Graham, who plays Jimmy Brooks on Degrassi: The Next Generation, otherwise loved as the rapper Drake or as Weezy calls him “Drizzy Drake”. Weezy said “Tonight he is Jimmy Valentino”, as they performed Mrs. Officer.

Drake is a much loved talent, but especially in Toronto, we love him for being just that, a true talent reppin hard for us Canadians. He had quite the cheering section last night, you could feel the excitement and proud air. ATF was in the building! I’ve been a fan and friend of Drake for a few years now and have even had the honor of having Drake host my birthday party in 2007, pre “I’m So Fly”. Thanks Drake…we heart you. You’re doing Toronto proud.
