I’ve been slacking on my blog posts as of late, but I’ve pretty much spent the month of January moving into my new home, furniture shopping and building a dream closet (finally)!!  Perhaps I’ll show you the finished product once I’m settled. With a little pressure from my friends and readers (I read your comments!!), I realize that the blogging must go on. After more than 4 years of blogging, I still enjoy it, but the catch 22 of blogging is that the busier you are, the more you have to blog about and the more difficult blogging becomes at times.  I once read that, “The more we do, the more we can do, the more busy we are, the more leisure we have”.  This is where I need to be. lol.

Here’s an outfit I wore to work and and a couple of after work events the other day. It was a good excuse to wear my YSL Palais Block Heel Boots again (the amazing cutout wedge boots shot by fashion photographer Tommy Ton from Jak & Jil) and my Jimmy Choo Tatum fringe bag, one of the fun & flirty bags in my collection of over-sized bags. Fringe always seems to make its way in and out of fashion, but whether in or out this season, I’ve always been a fan of fringe, when done right.

I’m loving my Lanvin for H&M shades but wish I had more sunny hours in the day to enjoy these fully. I’m anxiously awaiting Spring.

The much anticipated Lanvin for H&M Collection launched at 7am on Saturday morning at H&M locations across Canada and the United States. I just happen to drive by the Eaton Centre location in Toronto at around 7pm the night before and noticed that people had already started camping outside. Wow! The collection is definitely sweet but I can’t imagine wanting something so bad that I would camp outside 12 hours for, but crowds around the globe did just that, in hopes to get their hands on a piece (or two or ten) of affordable Lanvin luxury.

Thankfully, my Fashionably Yours‘ supastar JayStrut volunteered to document the madness and do some shopping on my behalf. The H&M PR peeps were so great and did all that they could to make the experience fun. I was pretty much on the phone with him the entire time, guiding him through my list that I put together from the Media Launch. And then we spent the day working at Fashionably Yours and at the end of a jammed packed day at the store, we played dress up with all of our favourites from the collection, in my opinion, the best H&M collaboration to date.

Last night, the AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario) hosted the Toronto Media Preview of the much anticipated LANVIN x H&M Collection, which is slated to launch publicly on November 20/2010 in North America and on November 23/2010 worldwide. This exclusive collaboration will make available the absolute essence of Lanvin to H&M retail outlets in 200 countries around the world. Within the separate collection for both men and women, Alber Elbaz (creative director of Lanvin), brings the Parisian glamor to life at very affordable prices and translates the “dream of luxury” to the mainstream world.

I had the opportunity to attend the preview, mingled with Toronto’s media & fashion regulars, sipped on lavender lemonade cocktails, nibbled on some very yummy h’ordeuvres, took a million fun pictures (of course), played a little bit of dress up and made a list of some of my LANVIN x H&M must-haves! It was an intimate, but fun event and at the end of it all, they gave away sweet gift bags containing an over-sized bow-tie, bright red lipstick & a full look book/notebook & CD. They were kind enough to give me a couple extra to give my Twitter friends an opportunity to WIN this fabulous gift bag by playing my weekly $100 SHOE DAILY. The LANVIN x H&M Men’s Collection consisted of many simple minimalist classic pieces, tailored jogging pants (an oxymoron perhaps?), flashy shoes & ties, and several show pieces, like the Bow tie tuxedo dress shirt & a purple leopard t-shirt.

Lanvin for H&M released a Fashion Show Short Film just hours ago, adding to the hype of the highly anticipated Lanvin for H&M collection which is set to release on November 20 in North America & November 23 in the rest of the world in over 200 countries. The woman’s collection consists of 30 pieces of clothing and 15 accessories including hats, sunglasses, handbags, footwear and lipstick. I cringe at the thought of the line and chaos this is gonna cause amongst the fashion hard ups.

Below are some cute images of what to expect from the video. Be sure to peep the video featuring model Natasha Poly. It’s genius marketing at its most fabulous. Its makes me want it all, hence exactly why it’s so genius. xo

I wore these luxurious satin ombre drape trousers from the Matthew Williamson Resort 2010 Runway Collection to attend a couple shows during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in NYC. I have been dying to wear these pants, so where better to wear runway pants than on the runways at New York Fashion Week, the mecca of the fashion world!!?? If anyone appreciated these pants, the NY fashion crowd sure did. I’m really hoping I can wear this outfit again one day. It was so fun prancing around NYC in these pants.

I’m not usually a big fan of clutches, simply because I’m always afraid I’m gonna set it down somewhere and it will miraculously disappear, but I love the way they look. I also find them a little inconvenient to carry most of the time, but I just could not resist this Moschino electric blue over-sized clutch. It was just far too fabulous to pass up. Yesterday, I re-tweeted a tweet from Elle Magazine linking a post via WWD which speculated, that according to their market sources, “It looks like H&M has snared one of the hottest labels in Europe – Lanvin – for its next designer collaboration.”

Well, it’s official!! H&M has confirmed that its next designer collaboration will indeed be with Lanvin, one of the most influential brands of the 21st century. The collection will go on sale on November 23 in around 200 stores worldwide and will include both womenswear and menswear, designed by Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz, and menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver. Wow! If their past collaborations are any indication, I can only imagine the long lineups & anticipation leading up to the opening of those doors on November 23!! Who wants to volunteer to stand in line?????

Lanvin is the latest brand to collaborate with H&M, with previous collections designed by the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garcons and Sonia Rykiel. In a new twist, the Lanvin for H&M collection will be revealed to the world through a special film which will be launched on November 2. The film will be available for all to see online at www.hm.com. Following the film’s debut, it will be just three weeks before customers have the chance to get their hands on a cove-table piece of Lanvin for H&M.

Since joining Lanvin as artistic director in 2001, Alber Elbaz has transformed the Paris-based label, founded in 1889 by Jeanne Lanvin, into a fashion powerhouse bursting with ideas and creativity. Alber Elbaz has pioneered there some of the biggest trends of the past decade – ribbon, bows, pearls, raw edges, sumptuous colour and metallic embellishment among many others. Alber Elbaz has a mastery of cut and an instinct for cloth which leaves a very personal signature on his work, ensuring that all Lanvin clothes are instantly recognizable. Since the introduction of a new menswear line in 2006, Alber Elbaz has also transformed the male wardrobe, bringing a relaxed elegance to men’s clothing which is as special as the womenswear.

I wore this outfit to the Smirnoff Experience with DJ Deadmau5. First of all, these harem pants are one of my absolute favorite and most versatile items in my closet and they’re available exclusively at Fashionably Yours. They can be worn dressy or casual and are so super comfy (with pockets), I wish I could wear them every day!! I loved these so much I bought 3 pairs to alternate between. They come pleated or not pleated (which make your booty pop). A fashion blogger from Shopsterium walked into Fashionably Yours today and snapped a Street Style pic of me for her blog. I woke up this morning feeling like summer was just around the corner, so I threw on a few different shades of neutral for the occasion, just another day at FY. I just happened to be rockin these super cute lace ups from FY, a lot lower than my usual 5 inch wedges but thought I would give it a whirl. Not bad, but I think I’ll stick to my sky highs from now on.
