After a full day at the PROJECT SHOW, work turns to play as many of the major players in the contemporary fashion industry collaborate with various brands, artists & sponsors to create events that give brands, retailers and clients an opportunity to mingle, Vegas style. Nothing beats nightlife in Vegas, especially when you’re surrounded by your peers, clients, favourite DJ’s & artists. I’ve been to Vegas dozens of times, mostly to attend MAGIC for almost 10 years now, but it’s the festivities that go well into the night that have left me with some of my most memorable MAGIC & PROJECT SHOW moments. On the first night, Coco, Hoda & I decided to catch Lauryn Hill perform live at the House of Blues, then headed over to the Castellana Ballroom inside the Cosmopolitan Hotel, to meet up with my girls at the Billionaire Boys Club x Karmaloop partayyyy. xo

The Giueseppe Zanotti Yellow Suede Wedges that I scored from the Giuseppe Zanotti store at the Bal Harbour Shops in Miami. Pretty right? Indeed, but 6 inches of pure pain that got worse every step I took. As you can already see, I have a ton of 6 inch shoes, but I refuse to wear uncomfortable shoes. I’m usually very skilled at picking the most comfortable sky high heels, but I failed miserably with these ones. There goes over $900 down the drain or I guess I’ll be selling these at Fashionably Yours asap. Look out for them online soon. lol. Perhaps you’ll have better luck with these than I did. They’re Size 7 in case you’re interested.

On day one at Project Show LV, I wanted to be super comfy, so I threw on lace shorts, an oversized blazer and wedges. I spent the entire day from about 8:30am till about 6pm, running around, snapping photos and catching up with some of my favourite brands and caught up on some much needed blogging.

I was in NYC again this week to catch a few NY Fashion Week shows before I fly out to Vegas to cover the Project Show. I’ve stayed at a ton of different hotels in NYC, and have always found the rooms too small, especially for the way I like to pack. This time around, I decided to book a King 1 Bedroom Suite at the Dream Hotel NYC. It was not only spacious, it was modern, clean and was equipped with 2 of everything including 2 full bathrooms! The service was superb, the food was exceptional and the bed!!! OMG! The bed. I am still dreaming about the bed at Dream Hotel! The beds were beyond comfortable with the softest sheets, which meant I was able to get a few very well rested nights sleeps. I will definitely be back to the Dream Hotel on my next NYC stay. Besides my ever so entertaining Ciroc The New Year Evening at Diddy’s Mansion, Miami was a week of non-stop action. I spent most of my time catching up with my dear friend Ania. As usual, we shopped a lot. We spent a full day at Bal Harbour Shops, stocked up on Spring shoes and bought matching Twillys for our Birkins. We even got a chance to check out Lebron‘s new retail store Unknwn Miami at Aventura Mall and if there’s one thing besides shopping that I love about Miami, it’s the amazing food options. There aren’t enough days in the week to eat everywhere I wanted to eat, but we managed to squeeze in many delicious meals in my short week stay. We had brunch and dinner at Cecconi’s inside The Soho House, lunch at Makato, celebrated a special birthday at Nobu, pasta at Osterio del Teatro and chop-chop from Chicken Kitchen.

We caught a couple Miami Heat games and scored floor seats. The nightlife was extra crazy this time around. We made our rounds; caught Deadmaus at Fountaine Bleu, Dirty South at Mansion, Neyo at Mokai Lounge, Too Short at Cameo and had an extraordinary night with Rihanna, Weezy & DMX at Liv on Sunday. I’m still asking myself why I left sunny Miami to return home to Toronto. One things for sure, I’ll be back in Miami very soon. xo

The Christmas holidays are my absolute favourite time of year. I love everything about Xmas; the food, the carols, the lights, the family, the love and the wonderful celebration of gift giving. I hosted my 2nd Annual Fashionably Yours Xmas Potluck dinner with my FY staff. Not only am I blessed with a hard working staff, they are each individually unique, stylish, smart, kind and so much fun. I’d like to think it’s partially to do with the fact that they have a super cool boss (lol). At the end of the day, we’re like a little family and I’m the mama. lol.

We exchanged Secret Santa gifts and everyone left with major designer scores. Jaystrut was my Secret Santa (again!), but I gifted each of them with special designer items to suit each their individual styles. Only at a Fashionably Yours X-mas party, does everyone leave with Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Hermes & Gucci. They work hard all year round, so X-mas is my time to spoil them. And then they spoiled me right back. There were tears of joy (Michelle), non-stop laughter (Jaystrut) and a shit load of Gucci (Hoda). We didn’t get any group shots this time, but shout out to Richard, Alison, Kathryn, Hailey & Paula who are a little camera shy. I love my team. xo

One of my favourite U.S. retailers Intermix opened its first Canadian boutique on Bloor St in Toronto and although they’ve been open since August, I was recently invited to the Official Intermix Canada Launch Party on November 23/11, hosted by The Coveteur at the Airship 37 in the Distillery District. It was well attended by Toronto Fashion’s usual suspects and started off pretty calm until Brooklyn rapper Theophilus London got his hands on the one’s and two’s and turned the party up about a hundred notches. He even managed to get the normally stuffy fashion crowd busting moves on the dance floor (myself & my crew included). I wore a studded piece of Versace for H&M and debuted my Hermes Black Birkin 30 for the occasion. It was another super fun night with my buddy Minna Rhee (Global TV) and my FY lovelies JayStrut & Richard.
