Here are some behind-the-scenes photos from the Franke 10 Year Anniversary Photoshoot held at the luxurious new Bisha Hotel & Residences presentation centre this past Friday. Franke is a luxury label created by my dear friend and designer Kendra Francis. I was honored when she asked me to be amongst a group of dynamic Canadian women to appear in her 10 year Anniversary Photoshoot, shot by the very talented photographer Richard Dubois. The list of women included various women doing their thing in their perspective careers including Kim Davis (singer), Melissa Austria (Owner, Got Style), Drea Vujovik (Project Runway), Jennifer Ferreira (Interior Designer), Pastel Supernova (Singer), Natalie Brown (actress), and Sarah Nicole Prickett (writer). Considering I’ve spent much of my fashion styling career dressing people and getting others dolled up, it was nice to be on the receiving end and had such a blast. What a fun way to spend the day!!

I’m wearing…feather skirt & one shoulder top by Franke, Christian Louboutin booties (available at David’s footwear), and accessories by Rita Tesolin.

Hello Vanity Fair.

Friday, October 22/2010…Dare to Wear Love founders Jim Searle and Chris Tyrell
On Friday, I attended the 2nd annual Dare to Wear Love closing event of LG Fashion Week in Toronto, an annual gala fashion event and fundraiser started by Jim Searle and Chris Tyrell, designers and founders of Hoax Couture, to raise funds and awareness for the Stephen Lewis Foundation in its support of grass roots organizations fighting the HIV AIDS pandemic in Sub Saharan Africa.
It was fun show with lots of love in the air and judging by the cheers and laughter in the crowd, a lot of people put their heads together to make this event a success, including some of my personal friends like designer Kendra Francis, singer Keshia Chante, model Renee Thompson and one of my fabulous FY clients & designer Reva Mivasagar. Ken Barbie & Asian Barbie lol

On Monday, October 18, 2010, LG Fashion Week officially began in Toronto!! Day 1 of Fashion Week is always fun. It’s almost like the first day back to school after summer holidays. I get to catch up with my fellow fashion friends & peers, see what everyone is wearing and catch a glimpse of what to expect for Spring Summer 2011 Fashion. I rolled through with Jay Strut & my girl Shannae from What Women Want to catch the Holt Renfrew & Bustle SS11 and in between shows we snapped some fun photos.

Toronto’s LG Fashion Week is being held at Heritage Court at the Exhibition Place (100 Princess Blvd.) and makes for the most stunning venue for this years fashion festivities. It’s by far my favorite venue to date, with tons of parking, plenty of room to mingle, lots of seating to rest up in between shows, fun little kiosks like the Barbie & Ken photo booths to snap photos and an open VIP section with open bar and cash bar. This year they even threw in a Ken model to pose with. Super clever idea. Anything to keep the high maintenance crowd entertained. More importantly, this years’ runway is equipped with a massive long runway with several very necessary levels of raised seating to accommodate the long list of fashionable attendees.

I love this electric blue jumper from Pink Tartan!!

Renee Thompon (left) is one of my favorite models from NAM Models. I’ve styled her countless times, including the show I styled back in 2007 for the launch of Beyonce’s clothing line Dereon and she’s always fierce!!! On the right is a look from Line Runway.

I almost didn’t make it back to Toronto for this event, due to the over consumption of fun I was having in Montreal, but I just had to be there to witness and support the months of hard work and planning of my girl Shannae, founder of What Women Want. WWW is a Woman’s Social Network, an annual gathering of fashion, beauty and wellness vendors that gives trend-setting women an opportunity to network with like-minded, independent women and a great reason to put on a sun dress on a Sunday afternoon! This event has the girls in Tdot searching for that perfect dress weeks in advance and has the street s buzzing for months. Kudos Shay Shay, for an amazing day! Shout out to Warner for throwing the after party @ Lobby, couldn’t forget about the fellas. It was worth coming home for.
