I spent my 2012 New Year’s Eve at Diddy’s ‘Ciroc The New Year‘ Private Party inside his exquisite Miami Mansion. The Christmas holidays are my absolute favourite time of year. I love everything about Xmas; the food, the carols, the lights, the family, the love and the wonderful celebration of gift giving. I hosted my 2nd Annual Fashionably Yours Xmas Potluck dinner with my FY staff. Not only am I blessed with a hard working staff, they are each individually unique, stylish, smart, kind and so much fun. I’d like to think it’s partially to do with the fact that they have a super cool boss (lol). At the end of the day, we’re like a little family and I’m the mama. lol.

We exchanged Secret Santa gifts and everyone left with major designer scores. Jaystrut was my Secret Santa (again!), but I gifted each of them with special designer items to suit each their individual styles. Only at a Fashionably Yours X-mas party, does everyone leave with Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Hermes & Gucci. They work hard all year round, so X-mas is my time to spoil them. And then they spoiled me right back. There were tears of joy (Michelle), non-stop laughter (Jaystrut) and a shit load of Gucci (Hoda). We didn’t get any group shots this time, but shout out to Richard, Alison, Kathryn, Hailey & Paula who are a little camera shy. I love my team. xo

This week I shot an episode of “Princess” on Slice TV at my Designer Consignment Boutique Fashionably Yours. The premise of this reality show TV series is one where the host Gail Vaz-Oxlade (from the hit series Til Debt Do Us Part), tackles the newest generation of spoiled spenders and over a six week period, confiscates the Princess’s credit cards, limits their cash and challenges them with tasks (thankfully, not me!). The Princess Corrine was given the challenge of bringing her items to sell on consignment at Fashionably Yours, so the camera captured our appointment, where I assessed her items for sale, which included a couple Louis Vuitton items and several party dresses. My FY team and I had so much fun prepping the store and caught some good laughs. I’m not sure when it’s airing yet, but I’ll keep you posted. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look…

My favourite thing about Fashion Week is getting dressed up and throwing on a pair of fancy shoes, but sometimes it’s even more fun to see what everyone else is wearing. I kicked it with Canada’s pop princess Keshia Chante and we played footsies for the camera. Keshia happens to be one of the very first artists I dressed at the start of my styling career, way back when she was 14 years old, so we go way way back when I styled her first 2 music videos and single album cover. We both have surely come a long way since, both in our career and style. lol.

Keshia was wearing a fabulous pair of Versace neon cutout super platform shoes, similar to the crazy Versace runway shoes I blogged about last summer when I was at Bal Harbour Shops in Miami. I was wearing a pair of Christian Louboutin yellow suede platform booties that I scored at Fashionably Yours!! A pop of color, as we anxiously await Spring weather.

I’m wearing…

My posts have been scarce over the holidays (shame on me), but rightfully so, I’ve had much to celebrate and lots of joy to spread with my friends, family & staff. The festivities began last week at my Fashionably Yours Xmas Potluck with my fabulous FY crew and a few of my closest friends. We feasted on a massive succulent turkey, exchanged thoughtful Kris Kringle gifts, laughed hysterically and cracked open countless bottles of wine. The next few days,  I celebrated with my BFFs and my family, then we all got together again and worked the Boxing Day craze at Fashionably Yours. I’m still stuffed from all the food and until now, never thought it was possible to get sick of turkey and stuffing. Xmas is my favorite holiday. It’s my time to give back to all my loved ones that give so much to me all year around, but Santa unexpectedly spoiled me. I must have been a good girl this year. Perhaps, I’ll work on being naughtier next year.
