After a full day at the PROJECT SHOW, work turns to play as many of the major players in the contemporary fashion industry collaborate with various brands, artists & sponsors to create events that give brands, retailers and clients an opportunity to mingle, Vegas style. Nothing beats nightlife in Vegas, especially when you’re surrounded by your peers, clients, favourite DJ’s & artists. I’ve been to Vegas dozens of times, mostly to attend MAGIC for almost 10 years now, but it’s the festivities that go well into the night that have left me with some of my most memorable MAGIC & PROJECT SHOW moments. On the first night, Coco, Hoda & I decided to catch Lauryn Hill perform live at the House of Blues, then headed over to the Castellana Ballroom inside the Cosmopolitan Hotel, to meet up with my girls at the Billionaire Boys Club x Karmaloop partayyyy. xo
OUTFIT: Color block dress (some random boutique in NYC), Giuseppe Zanotti Yellow Wedge Sandals, Chanel Emerald Green Vintage Lambskin Bag, Hermes Medor Watch & Clik Clak, Fendi Cuff

The Giueseppe Zanotti Yellow Suede Wedges that I scored from the Giuseppe Zanotti store at the Bal Harbour Shops in Miami. Pretty right? Indeed, but 6 inches of pure pain that got worse every step I took. As you can already see, I have a ton of 6 inch shoes, but I refuse to wear uncomfortable shoes. I’m usually very skilled at picking the most comfortable sky high heels, but I failed miserably with these ones. There goes over $900 down the drain or I guess I’ll be selling these at Fashionably Yours asap. Look out for them online soon. lol. Perhaps you’ll have better luck with these than I did. They’re Size 7 in case you’re interested.

Project Las Vegas, held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Centre, is a mega trade show or fashion event rather, featuring some of the world’s most advanced contemporary fashions. Project LV is taking place this year from Feb 13-Feb 15 and I’m on deck with the Blogger Project, curated by Marcus Troy, covering the 3 day show on my blog, twitter, Instagram. I spent day one running around, getting acquainted, snapping photos and catching up with my fashion peers, and finally got a chance to catch up on some much needed blogging.
Check out some highlights from Day 1 and keep up with me on Twitter or Instagram for updates.

Two of my favourite Canadian boys Marcus Troy x Matt George (Ransom, Nomad, Adidas, Stussy Canada, Goodnight Bar)

Pharrell made his rounds and stopped by his Billionaire Boys Club booth.

Sandbox Studios (based out of New York) has an awesome photo studio set up where brands can either shoot a looks for a look book or attendees can take some fun photos, which they print on the spot and take with them. The photos can also be downloaded online via a username and password. Sandbox Studios is based out of New York and provides a full service or a-la-cart that produces visual content from one to thousands of photos. Be sure to stop by the booth and have a papparazzi moment.

Stopped by the Nobis booth to catch up with my old friend JD. Being that I’m Canadian, I’m too familiar with Nobis outerwear, which is based out of Canada and focuses on providing high quality outwear, both fashionable and functional, inspired by a combination of military classics, 60′s Olympics/retro ski-wear, the Native Canadian and the Nomadic world traveler.

Why dish out $2000 for Balenciaga or $5000 for a Chanel flap when you can get one of these fun, thrifty little totes by Thursday Friday? Thursday Friday is an LA based brand created by Roni Brunn and Olena Sholomytska. The Balenciaga version pictured above retail for $65 but are also available in a myriad of iconic bags including Chanel, Miu Miu and more.

Visited my girl Jess at the Native booth. Native Shoes is yet another Canadian based brand that is inspired by classic, casual silhouettes, but made with the lightest and most comfortable material available.

Bumped into my boy Scott Hase from Under Two Flags (previously of LRG). Stay tuned for more Project LV updates soon.

On day one at Project Show LV, I wanted to be super comfy, so I threw on lace shorts, an oversized blazer and wedges. I spent the entire day from about 8:30am till about 6pm, running around, snapping photos and catching up with some of my favourite brands and caught up on some much needed blogging.

I’m back in Vegas to cover the Project Show, as part of the Blogger Project curated by my dear friend/blogger/influencer Marcus Troy. I’ve been attending the Magic Tradeshow for almost a decade now and Project since its conception in 2007. As a result, I have built much of my international fashion network here in Vegas and developed and maintained some of the most key relationships in my 10+ year fashion career. I’m here with a hand selected group of dynamic, young bloggers, covering Project Show LV from their own special perspectives. I had a chance to meet most of them at Project NYC, but have joined them in Vegas for the 3 day show.
I’m making my rounds at Project, but in the meantime, keep up with me on TWITTER and follow me on INSTAGRAM at ‘GetJanet’ for my photo updates.

I was in NYC again this week to catch a few NY Fashion Week shows before I fly out to Vegas to cover the Project Show. I’ve stayed at a ton of different hotels in NYC, and have always found the rooms too small, especially for the way I like to pack. This time around, I decided to book a King 1 Bedroom Suite at the Dream Hotel NYC. It was not only spacious, it was modern, clean and was equipped with 2 of everything including 2 full bathrooms! The service was superb, the food was exceptional and the bed!!! OMG! The bed. I am still dreaming about the bed at Dream Hotel! The beds were beyond comfortable with the softest sheets, which meant I was able to get a few very well rested nights sleeps. I will definitely be back to the Dream Hotel on my next NYC stay. The photos below do not do this room justice, but take my word for it. It was awesome. Stay tuned for my coverage of the Project Show in Las Vegas.

Room service from Sarafina Restaurant located downstairs at Dream Hotel.

2 work stations.

2 full bathrooms

2 closets and plenty of hangers.

Lots of room for all my stuff!

ASAP Rocky was in Toronto for a concert at the Opera House. My boys from Community 54 held an in-store signing, which I avoided but was complete chaos. Concert was dope. Packed. The ASAP Rocky boys really know how to entertain a crowd. lol. Drake made an appearance. Then there was an after party at The Great Hall which was a smoke filled room of boys in varsity jackets. I just happen to be rocking my vintage Roots varsity jacket, so I fit right in with the boys. Fun night.
OUTFIT: Alexander McQueen one-shoulder top, Topshop leggings, Chanel Vintage Chain Necklace, Moschino Belt, Hermes Collier De Chien & Clik Clak, Michael Kors watch, Links of London bracelet, Versace Runway Platform Boots, Chanel Red Flap Bag, 2-finger ring from Fashionably Yours

What was suppose to be a 3 day trip to NYC ended up being an extended 8 day trip. I flew in for the Project NYC and ended up skipping my flight home and stayed a few extra days. Project NYC is a small but very stylishly created trade show which features directional brands and some of the most influential retailers in the marketplace, combined with an interactive group of artists creating product on the show floor from their perspective brands. I got a chance to kick it with some of my favourite fashionable boys, including the homie Marcus Troy who did an excellent job of curating the Blogger Project, which is a hand-picked group of some of the most influential bloggers in the contemporary market. His troops were fully equipped and from what I could see, working hard to bring you the latest Project news, live from the venue.
I’ve been in NY so much lately that I’m finally getting a chance to try out all the fantastic dining. I satisfied my craving for good grits at Kitchenette, had a delicious dinner at the Soho House and Catch NY, which was shoulder to shoulder packed with NYC scene-sters. I shopped the usual Bergdorf, Barney’s and even caught a massive Helmut Lang Sale in Soho. I’ll be back in NY next week for Fashion Week. Stay tuned. I might as well live in NY. Hmmmm…xo

I recently attended the 2012 All Black Wear Affair (ABWA) at Liberty Grand in Toronto, a huge annual event put on by my dear & long time friend Wayne Warner. I needed a last minute all black outfit so I put together this random outfit with a few of my favorite new pieces. Mainly, the Chanel Red 2.55 Classic Flap & Versace Cutout Platform Boots, both of which I’m totally obsessed with right now. I also finally got a chance to wear the crazy fun Versace for H&M choker. Wayne never ceases to amaze me with his ability to turn out a massive crowd on the coldest day of winter. It was a sea of well dressed ladies & gentleman dressed in black. Good times were had. xo
OUTFIT: Black sequin jacket (Mendocino), Armani dress, Topshop tights, Versace for H&M Choker, Versace ‘Gold Button Up’ Cutout Platform Boots, Chanel Red Classic 2.55 Flap, Cartier Diamond Trinity Ring,
