Project Las Vegas, held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Centre, is a mega trade show or fashion event rather, featuring some of the world’s most advanced contemporary fashions. Project LV is taking place this year from Feb 13-Feb 15 and I’m on deck with the Blogger Project, curated by Marcus Troy, covering the 3 day show on my blog, twitter, Instagram. I spent day one running around, getting acquainted, snapping photos and catching up with my fashion peers, and finally got a chance to catch up on some much needed blogging.
Check out some highlights from Day 1 and keep up with me on Twitter or Instagram for updates.

Sandbox Studios (based out of New York) has an awesome photo studio set up where brands can either shoot a looks for a look book or attendees can take some fun photos, which they print on the spot and take with them. The photos can also be downloaded online via a username and password. Sandbox Studios is based out of New York and provides a full service or a-la-cart that produces visual content from one to thousands of photos. Be sure to stop by the booth and have a papparazzi moment.

Stopped by the Nobis booth to catch up with my old friend JD. Being that I’m Canadian, I’m too familiar with Nobis outerwear, which is based out of Canada and focuses on providing high quality outwear, both fashionable and functional, inspired by a combination of military classics, 60′s Olympics/retro ski-wear, the Native Canadian and the Nomadic world traveler.

Why dish out $2000 for Balenciaga or $5000 for a Chanel flap when you can get one of these fun, thrifty little totes by Thursday Friday? Thursday Friday is an LA based brand created by Roni Brunn and Olena Sholomytska. The Balenciaga version pictured above retail for $65 but are also available in a myriad of iconic bags including Chanel, Miu Miu and more.

Visited my girl Jess at the Native booth. Native Shoes is yet another Canadian based brand that is inspired by classic, casual silhouettes, but made with the lightest and most comfortable material available.

Besides my ever so entertaining Ciroc The New Year Evening at Diddy’s Mansion, Miami was a week of non-stop action. I spent most of my time catching up with my dear friend Ania. As usual, we shopped a lot. We spent a full day at Bal Harbour Shops, stocked up on Spring shoes and bought matching Twillys for our Birkins. We even got a chance to check out Lebron‘s new retail store Unknwn Miami at Aventura Mall and if there’s one thing besides shopping that I love about Miami, it’s the amazing food options. There aren’t enough days in the week to eat everywhere I wanted to eat, but we managed to squeeze in many delicious meals in my short week stay. We had brunch and dinner at Cecconi’s inside The Soho House, lunch at Makato, celebrated a special birthday at Nobu, pasta at Osterio del Teatro and chop-chop from Chicken Kitchen.
We caught a couple Miami Heat games and scored floor seats. The nightlife was extra crazy this time around. We made our rounds; caught Deadmaus at Fountaine Bleu, Dirty South at Mansion,Neyo at Mokai Lounge, Too Short at Cameo and had an extraordinary night withRihanna, Weezy & DMX at Liv on Sunday. I’m still asking myself why I left sunny Miami to return home to Toronto. One things for sure, I’ll be back in Miami very soon. xo

To say my 2012 New Year’s Eve was memorable, is an understatement. I attended The ‘Ciroc The New Year’ Private Party hosted by Diddy at his Miami Mansion on Star Island. I’ve been to many of Diddy’s parties in the past but this one was extra special; It was intimate, yet star-studded, well attended by his close friends, family and fellow entertainers. It was held amidst the finest of backdrops inside (and outside) his Miami estate which included a romantically lit Olympic size pool, lit up custom dance floor and tasteful, strategically placed Ciroc decor. We arrived to Diddy’s home around 11:45pm and was greeted by heavy duty security at his front gate, then escorted inside, past his entourage of crazy cars. We were immediately welcomed by beautiful model-esque women, dressed in gold sequin dresses handing out whistles and what seemed to be an unlimited supply Ciroc and champagne. Diddy was on the mic calling everyone to the dance floor before the countdown. His mama, his kids (including his adorable twins) & baby mama were running around and getting busy on the dance floor. Everyone crowded around for the countdown, we hugged and kissed, then Diddy gathered everyone to the back of his house to watch fireworks. Throughout the night, I spotted a continuous stream of familiar celebrity faces including Rihanna, Rick Ross, Nelly, Jermaine Dupris, Neyo, Gayle King, Star Jones, Vivica Fox, Andre Harrell, Matt Kemp (ooooh man, he’s fine), Sanaa Lathan, DJ Khalid, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Adrienne Bailon and both of Diana Ross’ children, Tracee Ellis Ross & Evan Ross. I chatted and snapped photos with the ever so talented Robin Thicke, who was there with his wife Paula Patton. Shout out to my girls from NYC, Kelly & Yvonne, who soldiered the long, entertaining 5+ hour evening with me and for taking care of me in my 6 inch Giuseppe Swarovski Platform Shoes. When we finally left at around 5am, the complimentary slippers & car service was a life saver. Thanks Diddy for that added touch. I must say, it was a pretty spectacular way to start off 2012 and if this was any indication of what the rest of my year is going to be like, well then, I have a lot to look forward to. Stay tuned for my Miami photo diary….my trip didn’t end there. x0

I spent my 2012 New Year’s Eve at Diddy‘s ‘Ciroc The New Year‘ Private Party inside his exquisite Miami Mansion. I knew my 2012 New Year’s Eve celebration was going to be a memorable one, just as soon I laid eyes on this beautiful Swarovski encrusted sequin cutout blush pink silk dress by Mandalay. This dress was yet another one of my amazing scores from Fashionably Yours and although I often pick outfits around my shoes, this year I flew to Miami in hopes to find the perfect shoes to go with this Cinderella worthy dress. I lucked out at Bal Harbour Shops with these oh-so-amazing Giuseppe Zanotti Swarovski ‘No Heel’ Platform Shoes. The dress and the shoes were two very good reasons to debut my Chanel ‘Tifanny Blue’ 2.55 Flap Bag...and oh, what a memorable night it was. Check out my favourite new little travel gadget…the Canon S95 Waterproof Camera Case. I brought this along with me on my recent trip to SXM and it was a smashing hit. I use several different cameras for different reasons but my absolute favorite go-to camera is the Canon S95. It has a ton of useful functions, performs excellent in low light conditions, is really easy to use, but most of all it’s super compact, compared to my bulky SLR cameras. I recently upgraded from the S90 which I ruined in the sand & beach on my last trip to St.Maarten but find that the S90 & S95 give exactly the same quality but with a few convenient cosmetic changes on the S95. I recently discovered this amazing waterproof casing for the Canon S95, on a hunt for a compact waterproof camera, but I really didn’t want to sacrifice quality. All the camera’s buttons are fully functional and it’s extremely durable, perfect for the beach, pool, or sand. xo

Every year, my friend Ania & I meet the first week of December to celebrate her birthday. It’s a ritual that gives us a reason to spend quality time. Last year, we went wild in Las Vegas. This year, we chose St.Maarten (SXM), since we had such a blast in September. She gathered a crew of girls from Miami, Toronto & New York and we all met in SXM for some fun in the sun. Winny & I had a pimped out suite at the Caravanserai Beach Resort. Unfortunately, it rained quite a bit, but we caught as much sun as we could, ate way too much, partied with my friend DJ Wikked (who is the resident DJ at the hotspot Tantra SXM), and participated in “Extreme Zip-lining” at the beautiful Loterie Farm (one of my favourite places in SXM). It was nice to get a few days off from @ShopFY, before the hustle & bustle of Christmas. xo

Carribean Christmas

I took another quick trip to St.Maarten to celebrate my dear friend Ania‘s birthday, but this time with my girl WInny & a crew of girls from Toronto, Miami & New York. I love traveling but I’m a horrible packer, so I’m always trying to find efficient ways to pack and in the process have managed to collect a ton of various travel accessories to help keep me organized. My favourite is the Louis Vuitton Monogram Pegase 55 Business Rolling Luggage. It’s the perfect carry-on size, fits everything I need in case my suitcase gets lost, has an outside pocket to fit my computer (and wires) and rolls effortlessly. I brought this with me to SXM along with my super convenient little Louis Vuitton Eva cross-body clutch & vintage Chanel black quilted duffel bag…all timeless, durable & stylish. Be sure to check out Fashionably Yours.com for a great selection of authentic Louis Vuitton luggage, discounted from 30% – 70% off retail prices. Stay tuned for my SXM Photo Diary…xo
