Proenza Schouler designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez (below) hosted a sweltering hot party at The Room at The Bay on Wednesday night, in celebration of their Fall 2011 Trunk show held the next day. I passed through and mingled amongst my fashionable peers in a sweaty room filled with industry regulars. I wore a one of my favorite Proenza blazers to represent for the occasion. This amazing textured puff short sleeve blazer has been sitting in my closet just waiting for me to give it some play.

Here are some behind-the-scenes photos from the Franke 10 Year Anniversary Photoshoot held at the luxurious new Bisha Hotel & Residences presentation centre this past Friday. Franke is a luxury label created by my dear friend and designer Kendra Francis. I was honored when she asked me to be amongst a group of dynamic Canadian women to appear in her 10 year Anniversary Photoshoot, shot by the very talented photographer Richard Dubois. The list of women included various women doing their thing in their perspective careers including Kim Davis (singer), Melissa Austria (Owner, Got Style), Drea Vujovik (Project Runway), Jennifer Ferreira (Interior Designer), Pastel Supernova (Singer), Natalie Brown (actress), and Sarah Nicole Prickett (writer). Considering I’ve spent much of my fashion styling career dressing people and getting others dolled up, it was nice to be on the receiving end and had such a blast. What a fun way to spend the day!!

I tweeted the other day that “my life has gone from shopping for shoes to sofas” hence I attended the Interior Design Show 2011 aka IDS11 to get some inspiration for my new home. I missed the opening night party but I still wanted to check out the event and managed to have fun furniture shopping! The event took place January 26-29 at the Toronto Convention Centre and although the photos are a little late, here’s a few highlights from the show.

The much anticipated Lanvin for H&M Collection launched at 7am on Saturday morning at H&M locations across Canada and the United States. I just happen to drive by the Eaton Centre location in Toronto at around 7pm the night before and noticed that people had already started camping outside. Wow! The collection is definitely sweet but I can’t imagine wanting something so bad that I would camp outside 12 hours for, but crowds around the globe did just that, in hopes to get their hands on a piece (or two or ten) of affordable Lanvin luxury.

Thankfully, my Fashionably Yours‘ supastar JayStrut volunteered to document the madness and do some shopping on my behalf. The H&M PR peeps were so great and did all that they could to make the experience fun. I was pretty much on the phone with him the entire time, guiding him through my list that I put together from the Media Launch. And then we spent the day working at Fashionably Yours and at the end of a jammed packed day at the store, we played dress up with all of our favourites from the collection, in my opinion, the best H&M collaboration to date.

On Friday, November 12, I attended the second annual Frocktail Party, a stylish evening in support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, which took place at 99 Sudbury in Toronto. Frocktail, not your average charity event, is an auction of hundreds of designer dresses, donated by celebrities, retailers, and designers, combined with cocktails and an evening of dancing. Fashionably Yours donated a Missoni dress (below) for the cause and appraised the dresses before the event. All the dresses that didn’t sell at the event are now available at Fashionably Yours and the proceeds will go to the JDRF. I actually won the bid on an amazing dress!!! I’ll be sure to show you when I wear it. xo

On Monday, my friend Mona of Lady Luck Entertainment threw a private birthday shindig at Tattoo Rock Parlor, located at 567 Queen St West. Mona started throwing parties in 2001 and since then, her events have become a playground for celebrities, athletes, musicians and taste-makers alike. Fashionably Yours sponsored the Gift Bags for the event and gave away 100 pairs of CAZZ Foldable Flats. I rolled through with Nebby, Christian & JayStrut to pop some bubbly with the birthday girl and to hand out some free swag.

I finally got to wear this nude/black one-shoulder Alexander Wang dress, one of the gems that have been collecting dust in my closet. I sometimes save dresses for just the right occasion and then they get hidden in the black hole called my closet and I forget all about them. This dress is from the Alexander Wang RTW Fall 08 collection, the collection that made me fall in love with his line. It’s one of those dresses that I can pull out of my closet years from now and fall in love with all over again. Perhaps next time I’ll opt for bare legs. It really is time for me to take a vacation. sigh xoxo

It has been quite an eventful few months since I started blogging again. Fashionably Yours just celebrated the most awesome month to date and FY‘s JayStrut & I were just spotted in the Globe & Mail and now Flare Magazine’s November Issue in the monthly feature section “FLARE WAS THERE“. We shared yet another page with Alexander Wang, as well as Tommy Ton (Jak & Jil Blog), Donna Karan, Dan Levy, Barbara Atkin, and our friend Amy Patel. “Flare Was There” is my favourite “Who’s Who?” of Fashion and Entertainment highlighting some of the cities hottest events. I had the honour of meeting both Alexander Wang and Tommy Ton at both events hosted by Holt Renfrew.
