Last night, I attended the Media Preview for the launch of Kate Moss for Topshop, Topman & Topshop Makeup at Jonathan & Olivia (located at 49 Ossington in Toronto). The collections debut to the public today so be sure to swing by and check it out. You must know by now that I love Topshop, so I rolled through to do some private shopping and as per usual, scored some amazing pieces, including some fancy Topshop nail polish from their new makeup collection. You’ll see.

I love this shaggy sweater!!! It’s actually reversible and suede on the other side. Double the pleasure.

Even before Topshop was available in Toronto, I managed to accumulate unreasonable quantities of Topshop apparel in my wardrobe on my frequent trips to NYC. The fabulous personal shoppers from Topshop in Soho just sent me the Topshop Christmas 2010 Lookbook so I can pre-shop before the holidays. From boho chic, elaborate faux furs, floor length dresses, edgy studded leather minis (my personal favourite), and layers upon layers of romantic sheer frocks, the  2010 Topshop Christmas lookbook will inspire and get you on your way to a fashionable and festive Christmas. These were some of my favourites from the 36-page digital catalogue…

Clearly leopard is one of the hottest trends of the season, but regardless of how quickly it seems to make its way in and out of fashions’ top 10, it’s one trend that I consider a classic. I don’t think I could ever get sick of animal prints which is why I love this vibrant blue leopard YSL silk scarf so much, being that it puts a fancy twist on the traditional brown print. It’s one of those extraordinary pieces that I might just keep in my closet forever.

The AMA‘s took place on Sunday night and Nicki Minaj wore this intricate piece of art / dress from India designer Manish Arora‘s Spring Summer 2011 Collection. She rocked it with gold Christian Louboutin Ambertina Sandals with crystal encrusted heels which was a great choice of shoe for such a showpiece dress.

As wild as this dress is, Nicki Minaj was the perfect candidate to wear this dress, as on most people this dress would have overpowered, but Nicki managed to get right into character in this dress and owned this look. Never thought I’d say this, but even her blond and emerald green dipped hair complimented her look perfectly.

Nicki surely isn’t the first person to wear Manish Arora on the Red Carpet. His dresses have been worn in the past by a pregnant M.I.A. at the Grammy Awards, Brittney Spears, Katy Perry, Rihanna, and on several occasions by Lady Gaga.

Below are some more spectacular pieces from the Manish Arora Spring Summer 2011 Collection, which previewed on the runways during Paris Fashion Week in September. Manish uses the term “Futuristic Baroque” to describe his collection. I find his precision and out-of-this-world creativity all so inspiring. xoxo

Speaking of collaborations, the Valentino for Gap collection “combines luxury with basics” and will be available from November 27 at a limited number of stores worldwide: Gap’s new Milan store, Colette in Paris, and, in Britain, Gap’s flagship store in Oxford Street, London W1, from 9.30am, and at Dover Street Market, London W1, from 11am.

Unfortunately, the collection will not be available in Canada (or the U.S.), but it was worth a mention, in case you happen to be in Europe. According to Telegraph, “The chance to invest in limited-edition Valentino at high-street prices doesn’t come often, but Valentino’s creative directors, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, have created a collection to celebrate the arrival of Gap in Italy.”

The 7-piece collection consists of Valentino’s signature ruffles in a very simple color palette of army green, cream and black, very much like my favourite Valentino bag.

It was just another day at the office in this over-sized military jacket I scored from Topshop. The first ever Topshop location in Toronto launched earlier this year in June, inside the Ossington St retailer Jonathan & Olivia and although they don’t carry the full collection, the selection is hand picked by its owner Jackie O’brian and replenished every 2 weeks. I try to drop in for a visit at least once a month to see what’s new and have never left empty handed.

The Camilla Skovgaard saw wedge boots have been around a couple seasons now and despite it’s more than 5 inch wedge heel, they’re super duper comfortable. The signature saw rubber soles add an extra bounce to every step, making it hard to resist another pair of black wedges in my wardrobe.
